There’s a Specialist For That…OR: Cliches Really Do Come True

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Here’s the hypothesis:  We all want to have 3 things in our lives.  1) Joy  2) Sucess 3) Health.  We can never have too much of any of those 3 things.  If you think that you actually have enough of all of those 3 things, then don’t bother reading the rest of this blog, because it only gives some hints on how to get more of those 3 things.
If you have enough, then you know that almost everyone needs some help to get enough of those 3 things.  I needed a lot of help, from many different types of people, and still do.
After 8 yrs. of giving good massage, I am just beginning to feel sucessful, in my work.  It took some mentoring from my collegue, Edward (Nubby) Shober, La.C  (Accupuncturist).  It also took some help from my very supportive husband who is my website specialist, and the help of fellow members of a few organizations, like Connections, PMC, and Parent Pack.  I also took some hints from some work coaches.
For my health issues, I have a whole slew of doctors on my side, from my accupuncturist (Nubby) to my GP, to my Neurologist, etc.  I could still use to have some personal trainers, or Yoga/Pilates teachers to sort of drill sergent me into shaping up my shape, and I’ve met a few, who may be able to help me.
I associate with all these different people, and specialists, because these are healthy sorts of relationships, and along with my relationship with my family, these friendships give me joy.  I try to balance the time I spend on each type of relationship in a calendar, when I can, because that makes me heathier, too.
When we’re happy and healthy, we attract happy and healthy people.  When we’re sucessful, we attract other sucessful people, to us, and they’re usually fun to be around.  Why?  Because they’ve figured out how to have joyful give and take relationships, with all kinds of people, while making every single one of those people feel special.
You can get there too.  If you’re coming with me, on this journey to the stars, you’re going to want to have a look at some of these books/authors:  Susan RoAne- What Do I Say Next; Leil Lowndes- How To Talk To Anyone……; Stephen R. Covey:  The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People; Steve Chandler: Various titles.
If you find any of these to be helpful, please feel free to call or email for more titles.
Creating great relationships with yourself and others, is only the tip of the ice, and it covers more than what I’ve mentioned, here.
Everyone deserves and, in the best case scenarios, strives to feel good in their bodies, about their bodies, and about themselves as people.  We can’t be effective, in any role that we need to play in life, unless we are healthy and exhibiting a healthy respect for ourselves, and others.
There’s a lot being said, these days, about The Law of Attraction.  It only sounds like Voo Doo.  It’s really just another way of saying that Birds of a Feather Flock Together.  My husband and I met in a Salsa club, because we both love to dance.  Consider where you met your best friends, or best contacts, and what you were doing at the time.  Hopefully you were doing something good for your mind or body.  Hopefully, you’re still doing it, and will be doing it, for a long time to come, or even doing more of it, or doing it better.
Now might be a good time to get back to doing what ever it was you were doing when you met your best friend/spouse/other.  My hubby and I finally went dancing again, last night.  It was wonderful.  It did a lot to keep the home fires burning, and made us feel healthier in our bodies, and in our marriage, and on the way home, we even talked to eachother about our differing techniques for raising our 4.5 yr. old son.  We killed many birds with one stone.  The evening strengthened our love for and our understanding of eachother, and helped us to grow as parents, and physically fit people.  There was the bonus, as well, that we got to greet old friends, again.
So another cliche is proven true, here:  Variety is the spice of life.  If we hadn’t gone out dancing again, none of those good things would have happened for us.
I strongly recommend that you go back to doing something that you used to love doing, but haven’t done in ages.  If it’s something healthful and gets you amongst people that are fun to be around, so much the better.  If you tend to look at my blogs as homework assignments, as I hope you sometimes do, that would be it.  Get up, get out and do something fun, again.
Isn’t that what you’d do, if you had only one more day to live?  It makes sense, to me.  I’d want my family and friends to remember me as someone fun to be around.  How do you want to be remembered?  It’s time to start making that a reality.

Do SOME of the things your mother tells you………….
