Fun is Healthy!

Okay, I admit, I love a good soap box.  One thing that I promote above just about everything else, as a CMT and as a person who happens to know is that our chosen form of exercise has to be FUN!!  If your exercise routine isn’t fun, how long do you think you’ll stick to it?  Less than a minute.

Here’s something fun and it’s actually free, too.  Did I mention it’s FREE?  Check out Mission Groove.  (Missiongroove@comcast.net in case you want some info. on the upcoming free workshop).  They’re going to be teaching Hip Hop and Mod classes to all ages, and levels in SR, on the 1st Sun. of each month in Santa Rosa starting on Oct. 4.  I’m taking my kid w/ me.

If you love dancing, this would be a great place to be.  If you prefer biking, go do that.  You can google meet ups if you like doing it w/ people.  I’m a big believer in there being an exercise for everyone, and that you don’t have to look at the prospect w/ dread.  If that’s what exercise is to you, then you’re doing the wrong exercise, and you’re not going to gain by it half as much as if you were enjoying it.

If you prefer walking on a treadmill, while you’re reading or watching tv, and it works for you, that’s great.  Go for it.

Be sure to reward yourself every step of the way- pun intended- with a good massage after every few work-outs.  If you think you can’t afford it, come to me.  We’ll work something out.  I do a lot of massage in trade for fresh produce, trinkets, fresh eggs, housecleaning services, personal training……….I could use a new personal trainer.  My former personal trainer has had to take a hiatus to teach at the Jr. College.  I highly recommend her classes.

My trainers name is Tara Jacobsen, and she’s teaching Phy Ed at the SR Jr. College Petaluma Campus.

I’m hoping that a friend of mine- a single mom- and I will have a chance to camp this week-end at the near-by KOA.  Another form of exercise if you take the opportunity to do some walking/hiking.  Our kids are inseperable and I’m sure that they’ll love the bunk beds.

Ta, readers.  Please let me know if you know of any really fun forms of exercise or exercise events that I can pass on to my readers.

Yours in Service.

Sue Hirsch of Suzanne’s Hands, CMT and lately proud mom of a River Charter Montessori 1st grader.
