Bring Back the Primal Scream
Monday, July 27th, 2009We find lots of frustrating situations in life. You can’t get around that. It’s easy for people to tell you: Just don’t let it frustrate you. Not as easy to find ways to avoid being frustrated.
I’ll keep my frustration. It’s real and honest, and it lets me know what needs to change. It’s how I got my husband to concede that what we really need behind the couch, are large cabinets and not a long low coffee table and a couple levels of make shift shelves of ply wood and cinder blocks.
Some situations take longer to remedy. Kids for instance. Once you’ve got ‘em there’s no getting rid of them until they can legally drive and pay their own rent……….Maybe I’d better raise his allowance.
Mine is actually liking home way too much. He doesn’t want to leave to go to school. After all, his school is only down the road and around the corner, and I’m pretty sure that he’s popular among his peers, and all his teachers say nice things about him. How bad can it be to ask a kid to focus for 8 hours a day. We grown-ups do it all day long.
Maybe that’s the real frustration. 8 hours is too long to ask a 6 year old to focus.
Maybe the real frustration is with the school system that requires it. And all I can do about that is to keep venting, because I’m not equipt to change the school system.
On the bright side, Petaluma is one of the best equipt Cities to offer great education, in CA and probably in the US.
At the moment, my son has really learned more from educational tv shows and games on my computer than he has from school, but book learning will come. He’s smart, and quick to learn when it suits him. Unfortunately he’s just as stubborn as I am, and right now, we have to slip education to him the way most parents have to slip veggies into their kids meals- hidden in the pasta sauce, and under peanut butter, (celery) etc.
I guess it could be worse…….. I could have gotten the twins I’d been hoping for.
WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!!
I’m changing the topic here, and have no segue.
I didn’t get many takers for my Special Friends Special. Maybe people didn’t realize that everyone is Special. I’m still running my half off days, each month. There are 2/mo. Unfortunately I’m going to have to jack up the price on that, for people who haven’t yet experienced it. I was charging $35, and my regulars can still benefit from my “all time low”. Others, who are not yet regulars will be charged $40. starting this Aug. (2009).
I’m ALWAYS running specials, and making up special packages for people, and lately I’m giving away my half hour gift certificates, just to get people in the door. Please take a handful next time you’re in my office, and give them out to your friends, family, fellow singles, fellow parents,……. whatevers. Then enjoy hearing them sing your praises.
I’m now calling my style of massage: Results Oriented Massage.
Yours In Service.
