I Won Relay For Life!!!!!!
Well, I hope you all saw my performance. It made me feel like I’d won the Relay for Life. I’m very lucky to have such supportive friends and family.
A friend took my son, for a playdate, while I performed and my parents came and seemed to enjoy themselves. Their enjoyment surprised me a bit, pleasantly, of course. I was worried that my Belly Dance “hobby” would seem a bit risque to them.
On the other hand, a lot of what I do is considered to be Tribal style or Tribal Fusion, and the style is one in which the costume gives a lot of coverage. We had to be well covered, as Relay for Life is a family friendly event.
I said “is” because it is on-going, through Tomorrow afternoon. Some of the teams are even camping on the field Tonight, in tents. …………..I’m terribly jealous.
Well, next week promises to not be any easier than this past week, when we were cleaning at break-neck speed in preperation for my Dad’s birthday dinner, on top of getting my son settled for a second time, in a new school for the yr. We changed after a couple weeks, because some space was made in the school that we prefered originally for it’s closer proximity and nicer play yard for the kids.
We were also working. We’re a 2 ……..er 5 income family. (My very supportive and hard working hubby usually has several jobs going at once. He’s a computer software designer). I’m most often working at my computer these days, trying to find new sources of clientelle. Work is a bit slow, this time of the year, but it seems to be picking up, as more and more people find this site, that my hubby built for me.
I’ve got to host a couple playdates, this week, practice a speech to give on the 18th, and be packed for a 5 day trip which starts shortly after that.
Maybe life will be slightly less frantic after we get back, but I doubt it. Sometimes I think I must thrive on this hectic pace. Otherwise why would I so over-program myself?
Keep watching my blogs for more performance dates. I’ll get them posted, soon. Right now, I need to program some time into my calendar for sleep, but before I sign off, I’ll let you in on a little secret: If you own or run a business, or if you’re in charge of promoting one, at all, you should know about Carol Goshorn’s Sonoma County Business Networking Social at the Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa on the 23rd of Sept. That’s this mo. of this yr, in a couple weeks.
Check it out at WWW.Sonomacoeventsunlimited.com
You can call Carol for more details at 707-527-7563 and please tell her that you discovered her by reading my blog.
Thanks.
