Connectivity

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

As I continue on my journey of life long learning, I keep coming round to the same lessons, over and over, until I finally hit upon their real meaning.  I think I’ve finally understood one of those life lessons, and it’s all about connectivity.
I’m learning a lot about all the different modalities, of alternative medicine, and learning that at their cores, each one is really based on the same concept, as all the others:  CONNECTIVITY.
When I give a basic massage, I’m trying to make you hear messages from parts of your body that you may not have heard from, for a while.  Your hands and feet may have been cold and distant feeling.  Counseling, is about connecting w/ our feelings, and other physical therapies try and connect you w/ your healthy body, too.  (The one that’s been hiding behind pain, and discomfort, or buried alive, by atrocious diet issues, or too little exercise, or sleep).
It’s only when we’re really connected, again, w/ our healthy and clear thinking body/mind, that we’re fully capable of making healthful, and mutually beneficial connections, w/ the world outside ourselves, as well.
A lot of marital disharmony, and unfortunate marriages could be avoided, if everyone was simply connected, w/ their own healthy ego.   There would be less spousal abuse, if men and women all knew, and could articulate, their desires, w/ out feeling a need for hostility, and intimidation.
But more to the point, we’d all be a lot healthier.  We’d all be eating a lot better, because we’d have a clearer connection w/ our body, and be better able to interpret it’s real dietary needs, etc.
If you’re looking for a starting point, on your journey to better health, or a better life, then my suggestion would be to start w/ your dreams.  Go back to a time, when you were little, and grown-ups asked you:  What do you want to be, when you grow up?
Dream as big as you can.  Dream like you’re answerable only to yourself, and start from there.  Why do those dreams draw you?  What facets of them draw you, the most?  What can you do, to realize any part of those dreams, and make them reality?
Now, email me, at Makodiak@juno.com, and we’ll talk about it, some more.
At your service, and good health to you.
